What is an Oral Cancer Screening?

An oral cancer screening is a quick and painless examination of your head and neck area to detect any signs of cancerous or precancerous conditions. In less than five minutes, we can thoroughly assess your cheeks, tongue, gums, and rest of the oral cavity to put your mind at ease or encourage further testing. We also use Velscope to complete our Oral Cancer Screening.

What are the indicators?

Oral cancer may come in many forms that often go unrecognized by patients. That’s why we strongly encourage you to schedule an appointment if you see or suspect any of the following:

Chronic sores
Ongoing oral pain
Lumps or thickening on soft tissue
White or red patches on the cheeks, tongue, gums, or tonsils
